To apply to have your inverter or power conversion equipment (PCE) included on the Clean Energy Council’s Approved Products List, ensure that your product meets the following requirements and that you complete the following process.
As different standards apply to different inverter categories, it is important that you know what type of inverter or PCE you are listing.

Inverter categories and required standards
While the Clean Energy Council does not currently verify compliance with Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) requirements, manufacturers need to be aware of their obligations (e.g. compliance with RLN, EMC LN and EMR LN). Requirements for the specific product type you have can be found on ACMA's website.
Please note: A new version of AS/NZS 4777.2 was released on 18 December 2020. There is a 12-month transition period during which both the 2015 and 2020 versions of AS/NZS 4777.2 will be accepted for the CEC List of Approved Inverters. Applications submitted with AS/NZS 4777.2:2015 will have a listing period that expires on 18 December 2021. After this date, inverters tested to the 2015 version will no longer be eligible for listing.
Please note: From 1 November 2019, all new applications for listing grid-connected inverters must demonstrate Volt-Watt and Volt-var capability. This capability is to be tested and recorded in the AS/NZS 4777.2 Test report.
The Clean Energy Council accepts certificates from the following Joint Accreditation System of Australia and New Zealand (JAS-ANZ) accredited certifying bodies or state electrical regulators:
If you have certificates from a non-JAS-ANZ accredited organisation, we advise that you submit these and their accompanying test reports to a state electrical regulator for assessment in order to obtain a Certificate of Suitability from that state regulator.
The certificate from the state regulator can then be uploaded with the application. State regulators are Energy Safe Victoria (Victoria), the Electrical Safety Office (Queensland) and the Office of Fair Trading (New South Wales).
A Responsible Supplier is a person, business or company that manufactures in-scope electrical equipment in Australia or New Zealand, or imports in-scope electrical equipment into Australia or New Zealand.
A Responsible Supplier must be a legally identifiable Australian or New Zealand entity, holding an Australian Business Number (ABN) or a New Zealand Inland Revenue Department (IRD) number.
The Responsible Supplier then must register the product brand and model name/number on the ERAC database as “non- declared” equipment. No certificates or other evidence need to be uploaded to this database. This is a product identification record only.
The Responsible Supplier must complete the Clean Energy Council’s online application form. You must provide the following information:
You must also review the Clean Energy Council’s terms and conditions and complete the declarations on the application form.
Applications will be delayed if incomplete or incorrect information is supplied.
As part of the application, you must pay the application fee. Applications will not be assessed until the Clean Energy Council has received payment of this fee.
